An Extraordinary Eucharist Minister visits the parishioner and takes the sacrament of Holy Communion at home. There are two teams: one team is the Extraordinary Eucharist Ministers who visits them home, prays with them, read scripture, and visit them on a weekly basis. The other team sends greeting cards to them. These cards are sent on birthdays, thinking of you and holidays throughout the year. We want them to feel they are a loving member of our parish community, are prayed and are loved by God. We also send sympathy cards to family members that have lost a loved one. You do not need a degree in Theology to help them learn about God. All you need is to share your Love for God and want to serve others to grow yourself personally and spiritually in the process of teaching the Word of God. If you attend mass here at OLL, you are encouraged to register with us. Please stop by the Parish Office to fill out a simple registration form or click here to register now. We urge you to get involved with our ministries and, as a stewardship parish, ask that you use your Offertory envelopes. If you are not both a registered and active member of our parish, Baptisms, Marriages, Sponsor certificates and other documents needed from the Church will take longer to obtain and, in some cases, not possible. You must be attending Mass regularly and be an active member of the parish. 
Together we are the Church2021 ABCD Goal $295,999.00. We have $ 204,520.00 in pledges. We have received $ 87,848.82 in payments. Our Pledge Balance is $ 116,671.18. Dear Friends, Every year our parish contributes to the Archbishop Charities and Development Drive (ABCD), as does every parish in Miami These contributions are tremendously important. They are used, among other things to fund the seminaries that train our priests, and to support parochial schools in low-income neighborhoods, like St. Mary’s in Little Haiti. The money we all contribute is used to take care of the elderly indigent, to help poor couples welcome their children into the world instead of aborting them, and to feed and clothe the mentally ill who sadly live on the sidewalks of our downtown. In short, the great works of charity of the Catholic Church, which includes spiritual formation in the faith, is made possible in Miami by the ABCD. We are asking that EVERY family at Our Lady of The Lakes Church, contribute to this important mission. It is simply our duty as Catholics and as role models for our children and the wider community. There is no reason why we cannot achieve 100% participation. Please take a moment to consider how much you can pledge this very day. It can be arranged to be paid monthly if that works better for your family. What is important is to commit to the charity that is the hallmark of the honorable Christian. |
