A Vicariate-Wide Holy Hour for Our Nation
As our nation celebrates the 250th anniversary of The Declaration of Independence, Catholics throughout the Diocese of Syracuse are invited to gather in prayer for our country.
Join Catholics from across the Greater Utica Area for a special Holy Hour for Our Nation on Wednesday, July 1, from 5:15–6:30 p.m. at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Church, 2222 Genesee Street, South Utica.
In a time marked by both blessings and challenges, we turn to Our Eucharistic Lord with gratitude for the gift of our nation and with prayer for its future.
Together, we will ask God's blessing upon our families, communities, leaders, military personnel, first responders, and all who call this land home.
As Bishop Lucia has encouraged, this hour of prayer is an opportunity to focus our attention on what it means to be "one nation under God" and to pray for the wisdom and courage to be the living Gospel in the public square.
The Holy Hour will include Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Evening Prayer of the Church, sacred music, an opportunity for Confession, Intercessions for our nation, and Solemn Benediction.
This gathering responds to Bishop Lucia's invitation for each Vicariate of the Diocese of Syracuse to host a Holy Hour for the Nation in preparation for our country's 250th anniversary.
Whether you come seeking hope, healing, gratitude, or guidance, all are welcome to join us as we place our nation before the Heart of Jesus.
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” — Psalm 33:12

Decree from the Diocese of Syracuse
|
|
16 June 2026
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
The parishes of Our Lady of Lourdes (est. 1919) and Our Lady of the Rosary (est. 1949)
have tended to the pastoral need of the people of Utica and New Hartford for some time. These
parishes have remarkable and beautiful histories. More importantly, they are places where God is
worshiped, the Good News of his love and salvation is lived and shared, and those in need are
served.

Rosary Parish Picnic & Fellowship Gathering

|
Thursday, July 16th - following the Mass of Thanksgiving
Celebrating the Faith and Legacy of the Rosary Community
Following the Mass of Thanksgiving with Bishop Lucia, all parishioners, former parishioners, alumni, clergy, and friends of the Rosary community are warmly invited to remain for a Rosary Parish Picnic & Fellowship Gathering on the Rosary grounds.
This special gathering will provide an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, share memories, celebrate our shared history, and give thanks for the many blessings that have flowed through the Rosary community over the years.
The picnic will be professionally catered by Michael T's, and thanks to the generosity and planning of many volunteers, a large outdoor tent with tables and chairs will be provided to ensure a comfortable and welcoming environment for all who attend.
Commemorative Rosary Christmas ornaments will be available, and parishioners will also have an opportunity to view the Rosary Memory Wall and other historical preservation projects that are helping preserve the legacy of the Rosary community for future generations.
RSVP Requested
To assist with food preparation and event planning, we ask parishioners to provide a loose RSVP no later than Monday, July 6th, by the close of business. Please call the parish office and let us know the number of people in your party who plan to attend.
While an RSVP is appreciated and will help us prepare adequately, all are welcome to attend.
