Assumption of Blessed Mary Virgin
August 15 at 7:00pm
The Assumption of Mary is one of the four Marian dogmas of the
Catholic Church. (The word 'assumption' derives from the Latin word amptiō meaning "taking up").
Pope Pius XII defined it in 1950 in his apostolic constitution Munificentissimus Deus as follows:
“We proclaim and define it to be a dogma revealed by
God that the immaculate Mother of God, Mary ever
virgin, when the course of her earthly life was
finished, was taken up body and soul into the
glory of heaven.”
HAIL MARY FULL OF GRACE

Welcome to Our New Seminarian Rafael E. Gutierrez
We are pleased to
announce that the
Vocations Office has
assigned a seminarian to SJN
during his Pastoral Year of
formation (September 2022
through May 2023).
His name is Rafael E.
Gutierrez, and he is 27 years old. Rafael was
born and raised in Venezuela. He moved to
Miami with his parents shortly after finishing
high school in 2012. Before entering seminary,
Rafael studied at Miami Dade College. His
home Parish is Blessed Trinity in Miami Springs.
The Pastoral Year is taken between second
and third theology, a couple of years before
diaconate ordination. It is an opportunity for
the seminarian to serve at a parish prior to
ordination to confirm his discernment. It also
allows us as a parish to assist in the formation
of a future priest. It is a privilege for us at SJN
to welcome our first pastoral year seminarian
in our 42 years since the parish was founded.
Please keep Rafael in your prayers.
He is looking forward to working, learning, and
serving amongst us this academic year.

Se Necesitan Monaguillos/As
¿Por qué ser voluntario para servir como
Monaguillo/a?
practicar nuestra fe.
a rendir cuentas a nuestro equipo y a Dios.
cambio.
