Back to School Night On Monday, August 25, teachers will present information pertaining to your child's class/grade level. All are invited to attend. Volunteer Breakfast Please join the Development Office on Friday, August 22, at 8:00am in the Parish Center to learn about all the different volunteer opportunities available at SGS and how you can become involved. Carline Student drop off, in front of the Parish Center, will begin at 7:25am each day. Any students dropped off before 7:25am, need to be dropped off in the breezeway. If you have any questions, please contact the front office. |

School Uniforms All students must adhere to the school uniform policy as detailed in the Parent-Student Handbook. |

Facilities Update St. Gregory's application for a variance to extend the height of the wall was approved by the Plantation City Commission this week. Construction will begin soon. |

Emergency School Closing St. Gregory does not follow Broward County schools in regards to closing. In situations of emergencies or severe weather, ADOM will determine if school will be closed. |

Lunchroom Volunteer Sign Up We greatly appreciate our lunchroom volunteers and are always looking for parents to help. Please use the link, Track it Forward, to sign up. You have the opportunity to volunteer for a shift, either 10:15-11:45 am or 11:45am-1:15pm. Lunch volunteer hours will be doubled. Thank you! |

Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
On August 15, the Church celebrates the fact that Mary, the Mother of God, was assumed into Heaven at the end of her earthly life. The Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 974) teaches, “The Most Blessed Virgin Mary, when the course of her earthly life was completed, was taken up body and soul into the glory of heaven, where she already shares in the glory of her Son’s Resurrection, anticipating the resurrection of all members of his Body.” In a homily for the Assumption, Pope St. John Paul II said, “Taken up into Heaven, Mary shows us the way to God, the way to Heaven, the way to life. She shows it to her children baptized in Christ and to all people of good will. She opens this way especially to the little ones and to the poor, those who are dear to divine mercy. Starting next week, school emails, class newsletters and the school newsletter will all be sent through Canvas.
